I don’t want to scare you, but this is a real challenge. And, sorry to disappoint you, but, if you take the conventional career route, you will end up like most people: frustrated and undervalued.
Here’s the thing, if you want a better job than most people, you’ve got to be better than most people.
The truth is that there is a big difference between someone who has no experience in a given job and someone who has achieved one or more years of experience. Sadly, some people are never intentional about their jobs. They don’t ask questions, they don’t seek advice, they enjoy their time off work a bit too much and engage in idle chatter any chance they get with their colleagues and friends. What these kinds of people fail to realize is, you only get rewarded for results and not for merely showing up.
The most successful business owners in the world hire for competence as well as character. See, it is not easy to get a job without experience, but it’s possible. Therefore, you must strive to become a person you would hire.
Study the companies you’d like to work for and find out how their internal processes work. Then, demonstrate your skills in the real-life environment by reaching out to one of these companies and offering to work for them for FREE. Be clear about the exact value you will be offering them and also specify the value you expect to receive. Have an eye on the bigger picture. Note that this is part-time. I do not recommend that you work full-time for FREE.
But have a teachable mind and be humble enough to work for free.
Keep developing yourself and reaching out to people in the field you want to work in, you will eventually land your desired job.
